The Kentucky Association of Chiropractors is saddened to share the passing of Dr. Mark Gregory Schweitzer, 59, of Fort Thomas, who passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at University of Cincinnati Hospital, surrounded by family.

Dr. Schweitzer was a beloved chiropractor who also served his community as the Campbell County Coroner. First elected in 1998, he held the office for 28 years and was running unopposed for reelection this November. Colleagues recognized his dedication to guiding local families through their most difficult moments. He was also a law school graduate, a devoted husband and father, and a member of the TPCA.
Mark was a passionate advocate for organ and tissue donation and, through donation, was able to help others after his passing.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty Schweitzer. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Susan (née Gossett) Schweitzer; daughters, Sarah (Adam) Hoye-Simek, Abigail (Michael) Fairchild, and Grace (Sam Mushaben) Schweitzer; sons, Benjamin (Katie) and Luke Schweitzer; sisters, Sandy (Don) Robb, Judy Horgan, Cindy (Brad) Hood, Gina (Steve) Schmitt, and Mary (Joe) Fischer; and brothers, Rick (Ramona) Schweitzer and Jim (Lynn) Huber.
Mark’s family has expressed their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) and the Palliative Care team at University of Cincinnati Hospital for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided to Mark, and for the kindness and support they showed his family.
