Effective January 1, Ambetter has become an independent marketplace plan for Kentuckians. We have recently communicated with Ambetter regarding their chiropractic policies following the transition. It has come to our attention that the separation of their Medicaid/Medicare services from the marketplace plan has encountered some challenges.
For providers who have applied for credentialing with AmBetter and have not received a response, please contact Aaron Allen directly at Aaron.Allen2@wellcare.com. Aaron is responsible for overseeing the credentialing of providers in Kentucky. To initiate the credentialing process, please visit: https://ambetter.wellcareky.com/provider-resources/join-our-network.html
Additionally, if you are experiencing issues related to prior authorization, such as lack of response, or Explanation of Benefits (EOB) issues, such as not receiving EOBs or receiving inconsistent reimbursement amounts for the same CPT codes, please reach out to us for assistance.
We will continue to hold monthly meetings with AmBetter to seek resolutions and prevent widespread impact on chiropractors. Please direct any information, issues, or questions to Dr. Jeff Meyers, KAC Insurance Chair, at insurance@thakac.org.
