Adapting to Change: Kentucky Chiropractic Updates for 2027Rachel Wendt, DC · 2 CEs · Sat 9:00am
This 2-hour course provides an essential update for Kentucky chiropractors and their staff on the insurance, legislative, regulatory, and technological changes impacting practice operations. Attendees will review updates from commercial carriers, Medicaid, Medicare, and the Division of Workers' Compensation (including pertinent changes to the new fee schedule released July 1, 2026), applicable ICD-10 updates, recent Kentucky legislation, a jurisprudence review, and the ethical and appropriate use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the chiropractic office.
This course was applied for Peer Reviewer credit.
Audit Yourself! Documentation Audit WorkshopEvan Gwilliam, DC and Lisa Maciejewski-West · 4 CEs in three parts · Sat 11:10am
In this hands-on workshop, Dr. Evan Gwilliam and Lisa Maciejewski-West will teach chiropractors and billing staff how to perform practical internal documentation audits before a payer, board, or attorney does it for them. The course focuses on the essential elements of defensible SOAP notes, exams, treatment plans, chiropractic treatment documentation, and rehab or ancillary services. Attendees will review real-world documentation scenarios, identify common deficiencies, and apply audit tools that can be used in their own practices. The goal is to help offices find and correct documentation weaknesses prospectively, rather than waiting for denials, refunds, or post-payment audit findings.
This course was applied for Peer Reviewer credit.
Unlocking Expertise 2027: An Open Panel on Insurance, Coding, and ComplianceAll speakers, moderated by Rachel Wendt, DC · 1 CE · Sat 4:40pm

Moderated by Rachel Wendt, DC, the session opens with pre-selected questions based on each panelist's expertise, followed by live Q&A where attendees can ask any and all questions of the full panel.
Risky Business: Back to BasicsHeather Simmons-Ellis · 1 CE · Sun 8:00am
In today's healthcare landscape, financial risks loom large for chiropractic practices. From improper discounting to flawed financial and collection policies, the potential for financial loss is greater than ever before. With regulatory bodies such as the Office of Inspector General (OIG) and Medicare intensifying their efforts to combat healthcare fraud and abuse, it's essential for chiropractors to understand the critical link between risk management and financial policy. Whether it's navigating dual fee schedules, avoiding inducement violations, or ensuring compliance with the False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statutes, this presentation will equip you with the knowledge and tools you need to safeguard your practice's financial health.
Building a Successful and Compliant Chiropractic Practice: Care Planning and Risk MitigationMiles Bodzin, DC and Holly Jensen · 2 CEs · Sun 9:20am
This 2-hour continuing education course is designed to equip chiropractors with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance practice success through compliant care planning and proactive risk mitigation. Participants will learn proven strategies and communication techniques to improve patient care plan adherence, optimize clinical outcomes, and minimize potential medical-legal challenges. This course addresses key elements required for compliant practice, including documentation, informed consent, and patient communication.
Understanding Medicare and Medicare Advantage: Coding, Documentation & Billing ComplianceLisa Maciejewski-West, CMC, CMOM, CMIS, CPCO-I · 2 CEs · Sun 11:15am
This course educates doctors of chiropractic on Medicare rules for coding and documentation compliance. Participants will review the key regulatory, coverage, and documentation differences between Medicare Part B and Medicare Advantage plans, along with the specific coding and billing requirements that apply to Medicare Advantage claims. The course also addresses how provider enrollment status, including out-of-network Medicare Advantage participation, affects billing, compliance, and patient financial responsibility.
This course was applied for Peer Reviewer credit.
