The Kentucky Association of Chiropractors gathered at the Embassy Suites in Lexington, September 25-27, 2026, for our 110th Annual Convention. With up to 12 hours of continuing education, a full exhibitor hall and an outstanding lineup of speakers, the weekend celebrated more than a century of leadership for chiropractic in Kentucky.

Friday Golf Outing
The weekend kicked off Friday afternoon with the Annual Golf Outing at Gay Brewer Jr. at Picadome in Lexington, a chance for colleagues and friends to connect before the educational sessions began. Congratulations to Dr. David Barrett, who took home the win. We hope you will join us next year!

Our Speakers
This year’s program featured four nationally recognized presenters:
Dr. Beverly Harger, DC, DACBR: Radiology (4 CEs)
Dr. Bev Harger, a board-certified chiropractic radiologist, led two radiology sessions: Investigating Radiology Errors in Spine and Appendicular Conditions on Saturday morning and Sports Medicine Radiology: A Case-Based Approach for Chiropractors on Sunday. Attendees reviewed real cases and sharpened their skills in recognizing and avoiding common imaging errors. Thank you to NCMIC for sponsoring Dr. Harger.

Dr. Brandie Keates, DC: Pediatric and Prenatal Care (4 CEs)
Dr. Brandie Keates presented Evidence-Based Pediatric Care: From Birth to 18 Years on Saturday and What Your Patients Don’t Expect When They’re Expecting on Sunday, giving doctors practical, evidence-based tools for caring for children and expectant mothers. Thank you to Foot Levelers for sponsoring Dr. Keates.

Dr. Stephen Hussey, MS, DC: The Biophysics of Heart Disease (2 CEs)
Dr. Stephen Hussey presented The Biophysics of Heart Disease and The Heart of Chiropractic, exploring how cardiovascular health connects to the work chiropractors do every day. Dr. Hussey’s session was sponsored by the KAC.

Dr. Cindy Howard, DC: Top 10 Reasons for Fatigue (2 CEs)
Dr. Cindy Howard opened Sunday with Top 10 Reasons for Fatigue: Causes and Treatment Protocols, covering the less obvious causes of fatigue that a thorough history and the right data can reveal. Thank you to Protocol for Life Balance for sponsoring Dr. Howard.

Honoring Our Chiropractors of the Year
The convention was also a chance to celebrate two of Kentucky’s own. Because the KAC changed how members vote for this award last year, both the 2025 and 2026 Kentucky Chiropractor of the Year awards were presented this fall.

Dr. James Taylor (left) receives the 2025 Kentucky Chiropractor of the Year award at the KAC 110th Annual Convention.
2025: Dr. James Taylor of Middlesboro. Selected by a vote of KAC members. Read more about Dr. Taylor.

Dr. Rachel Wendt (center) receives the 2026 Kentucky Chiropractor of the Year award at the KAC 110th Annual Convention.
2026: Dr. Rachel Wendt. Unanimously nominated by the KAC Board of Directors. Read more about Dr. Wendt.
Annual Business Meeting
KAC members gathered Saturday afternoon for the Annual Business Meeting to hear updates on the association and help shape its direction for the year ahead. All members of the KAC Board of Directors will continue serving in their current positions. The Kentucky Board of Chiropractic Examiners (KBCE) gave an update on upcoming regulation changes coming in 2027, and members heard an overview of the KAC’s national partners.
